Jonathan Koppenhaver (aka War Machine) Police Mugshot

Jonathan Koppenhaver, the former MMA fighter known as War Machine, was yesterday denied an attempt to get some of the charges against him dropped by a Nevada state judge.

He is set to head to trial in September, charged the kidnapping, beating, sexual assault and attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, tattooed pornstar Christy Mack, and her friend Corey Thomas, alleged to have occurred last August.

He has maintained his innocence since being apprehended after being on the run for over a week, after police were called to the scene of the incident, finding Mack with 18 broken bones in her face, missing teeth, broken ribs and a ruptured liver.

If found guilty of the 32 charges he is facing, he could receive a sentence of up to 25 years.

I probably shouldn’t really editorialise the reporting of such a serious incident, but I hope that if he is found guilty that he serves every single day of the sentence handed down to him. The evil bastard.
